Cigar Guide - Cigars and Coffee Taste More From Your Cigars

1st Feb 2021

Hi, and welcome to another episode of Mondays with Mardo. I'm Gerard, and this week, we're going to talk about cigars and coffee. But before I get going, I need you to click on that subscribe button, click on the bell to be notified every single week of new episodes on Mondays with Mardo.

All right. So here we are cigars and coffee. It's very subjective and this is a tough topic to cover, but I'm going to give it my best shot. What kind of coffee do you like? What kind of cigar do you like? Well, that is truly subjective. Just because I like something doesn't mean you're going to like the same thing. When I drink coffee, I do like a little bit of creamer in there. If I'm going to drink coffee and I'm going to have a cigar, I like only a little bit of sugar in my coffee, especially when I'm blending cigars down in a factory in the Dominican Republic.

I like to use the coffee in order to enhance my palate so therefore it refreshes it. Anytime we go to a department store and you want to sample perfumes for your wife or yourself, whatever it is, there's always that little shot glass of coffee next to it so you can take a whiff of it, cleanse your palate, and therefore you can smell different types of perfumes so you can sample them out and you can pick out whatever you want.

Well, also coffee does cleanse our palate within our mouth. So whenever you're smoking a cigar, it's always going to enhance the draw and therefore it can unlock some flavors within the cigars that you may not experience if you're not drinking coffee. Do you like your coffee iced? Do you like it hot? Again, it is subjective. It is the way that you like it. I do know that there's a lot of nicotine in cigars, so therefore sometimes the caffeine can bring me up a little bit if I'm a little bit nicotined out. So therefore coffee does help and assist with that as well.

If you like sugar in your coffee, we know that the sugar can replace nicotine in your blood flow so therefore you don't get nauseous and you can basically balance out your nausea. So therefore coffee pairs very, very well with cigars. Now, I do know that if I smoke a cigar naked, meaning by itself, I just came up with that term right now, and I had the same cigar with coffee, since the coffee does cleanse my palette within sips, I'm going to unlock some flavors that I may not notice all the time. If it's a hot coffee and it's steaming, also some of it's going to go into my nasal cavity. I may even cleanse my nasal cavity because I do like to retro hale.

So therefore you can see how much of this experience can really enhance my smoking. It's going to be subjective to you to what you like. Don't get caught up with what people are always saying on Facebook or social media. They think they're experts or not. I'm not saying they may not be, but you always got to do what you like. So if you like creamer into your coffee, go for it. If you're like flavored coffee, go for it. If you like flavored cigars, go for it. Do what you like. Do what pleases you and what you think tastes good to your palate because ultimately we are to make you happy.

So let me know in the comments how you like to pair your cigar with what kind of coffee. Do you drink coffee throughout the day? Do you always have to have coffee with your cigar or not? Other than that, I'm going to see you next week. But remember to follow us on Instagram, like us on Facebook, and tell your friends to subscribe to our YouTube channel. See you, guys.
