Can you Re-humidify a Dried Out Cigar | Cigars 101

8th Aug 2023

It's done. It's just like smoking cardboard.

Hi. Welcome to another episode on Mondays with Mardos. I'm Gerard. This week, we're going to talk about can you re-humidify a dried out cigar? Ooh. But before I get going, I need you to click on the subscribe button. Click on the bell to be notified every single week of new episodes on Monday's with Mardos.

As you saw my reaction of the irk about re-humidifying a dried out cigar, you can do whatever you want, you guys. But here's the deal. When a cigar dries out, not only does it get brittle and can it get just loose and unravel on you. What's happening is all the oils and all the flavors within that tobacco is drying out. So if you take a cigar that's been dried out and you re-humidify it, it's also going to cycle. It's just going to expand, and that's what's going to make it smoky because it's probably going to unravel on you, but it's going to just be a smoky cigar.

I'm no expert. Maybe that dried out cigar will taste good, who knows? But most likely when a cigar is dried out, it's done. It's just like smoking cardboard. I've had dried out cigars and it just doesn't taste very good. They burn hot. They burn too fast because they're very dry. Sorry, man. That's why we have humidifiers. We have humidors. We have Bobana packs. We have all kinds of things that you need to do to keep your cigar stored very, very well. Very short subject, this week on Cigars 101, but when the cigar is dried out, you cannot re-humidify it. Now, if it's been out for like two or three days, yeah, you can save that cigar even maybe like a week or two at the most, depending how bad it is. You can re-humidify. Just put it back in a humidor and don't smoke it right away. Give it some time for it to acclimate back into the humid environment.

Other than that, let me know in the comments if you have some magic powers to bring back cigars that are dried out. I'll be really happy to hear about it. Follow us on Instagram. Like us on Facebook. Remember to tell your friends to subscribe to our YouTube channel. Bye.
