Hi and welcome to another episode of Monday's with Mardo's. I'm Gerard and this week we're

going to talk about a question I get asked a lot it's a little annoying but I'm going to be nice

and we're going to talk about it because there's actually ways to figure it out that question is

what does it taste like that's the most annoying question but in all honesty there is such a thing


called the flavor wheel there are two things in the flavor wheel that will assist you is you

have the flavors and then you also have the aroma how does the aroma actually assist you is because

what we can smell we cannot always taste what the heck do I mean by that


when you taste something in your tongue you have only four different taste buds right


you have sweet spicy sour and bitter however when it comes to the nasal cavity I can pick up scents


that I can never taste so I can definitely smell a flower but I can't really taste that same scent

in my mouth if I was to eat that flower so the flavor wheel takes two components you have the

aroma and you also have the flavor and then within that uh contraption they are broken down to like

you have savory flavors you have sweet flavors you have fruit flavors you have all sorts of

these other type of flavors I don't know exactly by hand I'm not the biggest um you know cigar

flavor breakdown kind of connoisseur when it comes to hints but

I do know what a Cameroon leaf tastes like I do know what a Connecticut broadleaf opposed to  


San Andre's maduro tastes like because I've smoked a lot of cigars so when I smoke a cigar

and when people ask me what it tastes like be careful what kind of answer you're going to get


from me because I'm going to tell you what kind of tobaccos it tastes like but maybe sometimes

I can say yeah I do taste a little bit of dark chocolate some coffee because these are very very

uh apparent flavors but do I taste like um i don't know blueberry grown from chile I can't

really tell you that if it tastes like a blueberry from chile some guys can they say they feel some


magic unicorn type of flavor come and whisk the top of their tongue and fly away and never


come back chasing a dragon craziness out there right that's why I can't stand that

question but there is truly uh some flavor wheel and aroma wheels that you can download by and can


start writing down your own personal notes uh when it comes to me when I smoke a cigar I'll tell you

it has Cameroon in it or not that's as far as I can go so as boring this video is I hope it was
