Cigar Guide - My TOP FIVE Most Memorable Cigars
30th May 2022
Hi and welcome to another episode of Mondays with Mardo's. I'm Gerard and we're going to go over, as of recent, my top five most memorable cigars. But before I get going, I need you to click on that subscribe button, click on the bell to be notified every single week of new episodes on Mondays with Mardo's.
All right. So we are going to go over my top five most memorable cigars as of recent. I am the kind of guy that I like to smoke and my flavor profile is all over the place. I like mild cigars. I like very strong cigars. I just don't like a lot of flavored cigars. I don't even think I like one flavored cigar, but I'm going to go over these five cigars. And, as a matter of fact, if you stick all the way to the end of this channel, there's going to be a little promotion about these cigars, but let's get right into it. And in no order of any fashion, I'm just going to talk about every single cigar and why it's memorable to me and why I liked it so much.
First up is RoMa Craft Neanderthal. This is the HS. That's the name of the size. This cigar was actually only available through the European market but, as of recently, and when I say recently within the last year, year and a half, RoMa Craft decided to bring it towards stateside and this is more of a Lonsdale shape. I did get this cigar gifted to me by one of the staff members at RoMa Craft and when I smoked this cigar ... Mind you not, this is a full body cigar. It has a Mexican San Andreas Maduro wrapper with fillers and binder from Nicaragua. It's a full body cigar but the retrohale on this cigar was amazing.
I only had two of them at the time and I smoked both and I loved it and I was always looking for more of them. So now they are stateside and I definitely put it in one of my top five most memorable cigars because the retrohale was just amazing flavor. It is full body so I recommend you smoke it at night. If you're going to retrohale every single drag, you're going to get pretty woozy. You're going to get lightheaded. So be ready to go night-night after that one.
The second cigar is the Jake Wyat Herbert Spencer. This again is a Maduro. This is in a Corona side. This is a five and a half by 44 ring gauge. This is not as full body. It's more of a medium body cigar. The reason why I like this because this Maduro right here is full on chocolate bomb. We were out in Texas at Industrial Cigars and the Dallas Fort Worth area, actually in Frisco, and we were there for an event and it was the Saturday morning show for Industrial Cigars and I didn't really get a chance to get myself a coffee that morning so I smoked this cigar.
I didn't even have breakfast that day and this was a cigar that I had. I was kind of nervous thinking that it was going to jack me up because I hadn't had anything to eat or drink and this really replaced a cup of coffee for me. It sounds crazy but the nicotine was just perfect. And the flavors, it was like as if I was drinking hot chocolate. The amount of chocolate in this cigar was overly abundant. I enjoyed it. I loved it and it was very memorable to me. I remember it just like it was yesterday. So look for that one as well.
Another cigar that is also from Nicaragua, this is from Aganorsa is the name of the factory. And this is a collaboration between Warped cigars and Guardian of the Farm. The actual name of this cigar is Guardian of the Farm Apollo, but Warped Cigar Company had some collaboration with them. This is also a Lonsdale. I was at the trade show in Vegas and a friend of mine recommended that I try this cigar and right off the bat with the first retrohale, I fell in love with the cigar. Since then a lot of people have gifted me this cigar because they know I like it. I have a box from 2018 which is aging very well. This cigar I like a lot. Again, Guardian of the farm and the size is called Apollo.
This obviously is going to be a favorite to a lot of people, but this certain size is my favorite. This is de Fuente Opus X Magnum O. I'm not a very big fan of all the other Opuses. There's a lot, Forbidden X, there's Oro Oscuro. There's all sorts of different types of Opus Xs. I like just the regular traditional line of the Opus X and the Magnum O is definitely one that is very memorable to me. I was at a cigar event for the first time I tried this cigar and I still smell it. It has a lot of cinnamon and raisin flavors to it, super smooth, very creamy cigar, very good draw. And any time I see any Magnum Os, I definitely stock up on them. It's one of my favorite Opus Xs along with the Double Robusto and Robusto. As you can tell, the Magnum O is somewhat of a Robusto size. A very, very good cigar.
And this bad boy right here is the last cigar I'm going to talk about. Again with Jake Wyatt Cigar Company, this is called the USIR Limited Edition. And as you can see, this is a barber pole. It's a true barber pole. It is not a cigar that just has a strip of an extra wrapper around it. These are staggered leaves put together and rolled in diagonal shape giving you that true barber pole finish to it. Seven inch figurado. It has a 64 ring gauge at the foot and 49 ring gauge at the cap. So therefore it's going to be tapered. This cigar when I smoked it for the first time, it was like a vanilla cake puff cloud in my mouth. It was so smooth, so yummy, so puffy like marshmallow, I just couldn't get enough of it. I just kept puffing and puffing it and it's really, really good. I love this cigar. At $16, you can't get something better than this.
So that is my top five. So if you have hung in there and watched the whole entire video, we have two little specials for you. You can definitely get this sampler. We have very limited amount of it. It's going to be product number 5852. So you can go to mardocigars.com and type in the search bar 5852. And during your checkout process, plug in the coupon code, the letters YT10.
