Cigar Guide - Hottest Nicaraguan Cigar Factories of 2020, Part 2

14th Dec 2020

Hi, and welcome to another episode of Mondays with Mardo. I'm Gerard and this week we're going to continue talking about the hottest cigar factories coming out of Nicaragua, especially boutique ones. But before I get going, I need you to click on the subscribe button, click on the bell to be notified every single of new episodes on Mondays with Mardo.

So this week we're going to talk about a smaller factory out of Esteli, Nicaragua, Nica Sueno. Nica is short for Nicaragua and Sueno is dream. So Nicaraguan dream. It's a pretty cool name. So Mike Rosales and Skip Martin got together and they chopped up their last names and they came up with RoMa Craft, making cigars out of Esteli in the back of Esteban Disla's house in 2010. Now, in 2013 is when they felt they were making a pretty good footprint within the industry and that catapulted them for them to move to a factory where they constructed it to their own design and their own liking, and also was the year where they launched their first version of the Craft Series cigars known as La Campaña de Panamá Soberana and as a box of 10. Not until five years later, they came up with the Craft 2018. I do have a couple of those in my stash. I have still yet to try one.

The reason why I mentioned that is because RoMa Craft does some phenomenal job with their limited editions. You guys are very familiar with their Black Irish, their Sabre Tooth, and so many other cool stuff that they do throughout the year. So they've definitely been a very big boutique company. I'm not sure if I already mentioned 400 to 500,000 cigars are what they produced in 2013. Let's jump forward 2019, they started hitting a million cigar mark and that is a very good production. Employing 74 employees, buying tobaccos from 12 different countries, 30 different tobaccos coming from Oliva family and Aganorsa, which is something we mentioned on our last video. So Nica Sueno also produces a brand that is known to many of us, Powstanie, Fable and some other really cool stuff out there.

Let us know in the comments what you think of Nico Sueno. We do have RoMa Craft on our website. So please check out our inventory. Other than that, I'll see you guys next week with another video.
