But before I get going, I need you to click on that subscribe button, click on the bell to be notified every single week of new episodes on Mondays with Mardo's.
All right. So I have three tips I'm going to share with you guys through my own experience, how to get the best experience out of your cigar when you want to smoke it. Tip number one, if you're considering on sitting outside and having your cigar, that's a great idea. However, make sure that it is not windy. Reason being, it can really jack up the burn pattern of your cigar, you're going to get very uneven burning. You're not going to get the very, very good flavors. And the other thing is when it's windy and you blow the cigar smoke out of your mouth, you're really not going to get the aroma because it's going to blow everything away from you. And it's just not going to be very, very pleasant. So tip number one, make sure it is not windy outside if you're going to go smoke outside. All right. So tip number two.
We're going to talk about letting the cigar acclimate to the weather and what the heck am I talking about? Well, you guys know cigars are usually stored in relative humidity between 65 to 72. And then when it comes to the temperature, it's also going to be around 65 to 70 degrees in Fahrenheit. So if you live in a very cold climate or it's winter, and you pull out your nice cigar from the humidor in your living room and you go outside to the patio and it's pretty cold outside, and you light this cigar, you just shocked it. You introduced a lot of heat with the surrounding being very cold. This cigar is going to blow up on you. It's going to unravel. It's not going to be able to be smokeable. So what do you do? Well you got to make sure that the surface is dry. It's not snowy.
It's not windy. Let the cigar sit outside, let it acclimate for at least about an hour. So therefore when you do introduce heat, coming from a torch flame, the cigar will not pop on you when you smoke in it. So therefore it's going to be actually enjoyable for you to be able to smoke in cold weather. So tip number two, make sure your cigar acclimate to its weather.
All right. So tip number three, we're going to talk about the type of flame you use to light your cigar. Make sure you do not use any kind of lighter that has a lighter fluid. The byproduct from lighter fluid has very strong odors and also the properties are very oily. So therefore it can really contaminate the flavor of your cigar. Make sure you use a lighter that utilizes butane. It could be either a torch or a soft flame. It doesn't matter. As long as it's butane. Also, if you want to use matches, make sure it's like a wooden match or something that's very organic. Other than that, let me know in the comments, what you do to enjoy the best experience out of your cigars.
