What is this product?
The Tradecraft Shinobi Gran Robusto is a full-bodied premium cigar handcrafted at Tabacalera La Isla in the Dominican Republic. This 5½ × 52 vitola features an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper over a Mexican San Andrés binder, with a distinctive filler blend of Nicaraguan tobaccos from Jalapa and Condega, Connecticut Broadleaf, and Dominican Olor.
What sets Shinobi apart is its all-viso filler composition—an unconventional approach that builds the blend exclusively around viso priming leaves rather than relying on ligero for strength. This fourth regular-production release from Tradecraft Cigars draws inspiration from the legendary Shinobi warriors of feudal Japan and arrives in elegant 12-count wooden boxes with Japanese-inspired artwork.
Why this product?
Shinobi represents a fresh take on full-bodied cigar blending. By focusing entirely on viso tobaccos from multiple growing regions, Tradecraft delivers complexity through flavor and character rather than raw power. The manufacturer describes a dark, rich profile featuring roasted coffee, cocoa powder, cinnamon, saffron, and lingering natural sweetness—a layered experience that showcases what viso leaves can accomplish when thoughtfully sourced and blended.
The combination of Ecuadorian Sumatra's earthy richness with Mexican San Andrés and tobaccos from Nicaragua, Connecticut, and the Dominican Republic creates an intriguing foundation for exploration. For those who appreciate boutique craftsmanship and innovative approaches to traditional blending, Shinobi offers something genuinely different in the full-bodied category.
Who can buy this product?
Tradecraft Shinobi is for adult premium cigar enthusiasts (21+) who enjoy exploring boutique releases and unconventional blending techniques. If you're drawn to full-bodied cigars but appreciate nuanced flavor over sheer strength, or if you're simply curious about what an all-viso blend can deliver, this is worth your attention.

Storage and Handling
Ideal Humidity Range
Store your cigars between 65% and 70% relative humidity for optimal flavor, burn consistency, and structure. This range prevents cracking, swelling, and uneven combustion.
Temperature Matters
Keep cigars between 65°F and 70°F (18°C–21°C). Excess heat can damage oils and increase the risk of tobacco beetles, while cold environments can affect burn performance.
Stability Over Perfection
Consistency is more important than hitting an exact number. Sudden humidity swings can damage wrappers and affect draw. A stable environment protects your investment.
Recommended: 2-Way Humidity Control
For effortless maintenance, we recommend Boveda 2-Way Humidity Packs (65% or 69%) to maintain consistent humidity with no refilling, no monitoring stress, and no over-humidifying.
