La Riqueza SE 2024 is made in the Cazadores size, a lonsdale measuring 6 3/8 inches long by a slim 44 ring gauge. It’s offered in two different wrappers, both of them dark, either Connecticut broadleaf or Mexican San Andrés. The rest of the tobaccos are Nicaraguan.
Each is presented in wooden, slide-lid boxes of 10, with a suggested retail price of $11 per cigar.
La Riqueza was created by Tatuaje brand owner Pete Johnson and cigarmaker José “Pepin” Garcia in 2008. Back then, it was the first time either Garcia or Johnson made a cigar with Connecticut broadleaf.
“I've been wanting to do broadleaf since I started Tatuaje,” said Johnson at the time.
The brand remained in regular production until 2017, when Tatuaje stopped making it for a while to pursue other projects. Now, La Riqueza appears in limited-edition runs. (The last one was in 2022).
The cigars are produced by My Father Cigars in Estelí, Nicaragua, longtime partners of Tatuaje, and this particular run is limited to 3,000 boxes, 1,500 of each wrapper variety.
