In the Spring of 2022, Crowned Heads introduced Blood Medicine as an event-only cigar. The company followed up last year by releasing Blood Medicine LE 2024 in one size, a 6" x 52 Toro, with a limited production of 18,000 cigars. Crowned Heads is now expanding the Blood Medicine limited edition by releasing the blend in
21-count cabinet boxes, available in three different sizes.
"The response to last year's Blood Medicine LE 2024 was overwhelming, and actually caught us off guard a bit," commented Crowned Heads co-founder, Jon Huber.
"Last year, the 1,500 boxes sold out in a matter of days, and the feedback to that release and the demand for more was insane. So this year were expanding the brand and we are releasing the original blend in 21-count cabs available in three different vitolas, in the hopes that more people can experience this dynamic and unique cigar."
Blood Medicine takes its name from a three-story building located on the corner of Broadway and 4th Avenue in downtown Nashville. That building was originally built as a pharmacy in 1872, and was later converted into a hotel in 1892. In 1988 the building would be purchased and re-opened as Merchants Restaurant. While many legendary tales exist about this historic building, evidence of the original pharmacy still remain, as evidenced by the painted words, "Blood Medicine," still visible on the exposed brick wall on the third floor of the restaurant.
The Blood Medicine blend is comprised of an Ecuadorian (Connecticut) binder, all Nicaraguan filler tobaccos, and is finished with a near flawless Ecuadorian (Habano) cover leaf. Production of the LE 2025 is limited to 700 boxes
of each of the three sizes: 5 X 52, 5 1/2 X 56, and 6 X 54
Blood Medicine LE 2025 is manufactured at the TacaNicsa factory in Esteli, Nicaragua, home to such Crowned Head brands as Mil Días, Mil Días Maduro, and Juárez.
