What is this product?
The Lure Cigars The Codfather Limited Edition 2026 is a special release that brings the original cigar behind the Lure Cigars story to life. Handcrafted at La Tabacaria in Estelí, Nicaragua, this mild-to-medium-strength cigar features an Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade wrapper, a Nicaraguan binder, and aged Nicaraguan and Honduran fillers. The Codfather comes in a 6½ × 54 Sublime format and is packaged in distinctive pearl-white 10-count packs with Boveda humidification.
Limited to just 4,000 cigars worldwide (400 ten-count packs), this is a highly allocated boutique release created by founder Lou Cross III in honor of his father.
Why this product?
The Codfather isn't just another limited-edition Connecticut cigar — it's the blend that inspired an entire boutique cigar company. Originally commissioned to celebrate Lou Cross's father's 90th birthday, the cigars arrived too late for the occasion and were ultimately shared with friends and family at his funeral. Their overwhelming reception inspired Lou Cross III to launch Lure Cigars in 2023.
Now, for the first time, this meaningful blend is being offered to cigar enthusiasts in the larger Sublime format. With aged tobaccos from Nicaragua and Honduras wrapped in smooth Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade, The Codfather combines a personal family legacy with boutique craftsmanship in one highly limited release.
Who can buy this product?
The Codfather is for adult cigar enthusiasts (21+) who appreciate the stories behind boutique blends and limited-production releases. Its mild-to-medium strength and Connecticut Shade wrapper make it approachable for newer premium cigar smokers while offering enough aged character and craftsmanship to appeal to seasoned collectors.
This is a cigar for those who value meaningful occasions — whether you're celebrating a milestone, honoring someone special, or simply enjoying a thoughtful smoke with friends. With only 4,000 cigars produced worldwide, it's also a rare opportunity to own a piece of Lure Cigars' founding story.
