Chili, Pineapple, Then Flan: Why ReVerdigris Earned 96 Points From Mardo
The Sequel That Caught Us Off Guard
Every once in a while, a cigar completely surprises us. The Patina y Viso ReVerdigris is one of those cigars. It is a 5 x 52 robusto from two boutique brands that clearly enjoy working together, and it costs just $13. After smoking it, Mardo gave it a whopping 96 out of 100.
This is our firsthand ReVerdigris review: what we tasted, how it performed and why we think Viso Horny fans should grab a bundle or two.
How We Approached This ReVerdigris Review
Every cigar we review at Mardo gets the same treatment. We look at the specs, weigh the cigar, check the draw and then pay close attention to how the flavor changes from one third to the next. We also judge the burn line and the ash, because construction can make or break a great blend. Finally, we ask a simple question: is it worth the price?
For this ReVerdigris review, we only report what we actually noted while smoking. You will not find guesses here. If we did not taste it, we will not tell you it is there.

A Boutique Collaboration With a Sense of Humor
ReVerdigris comes from Mo Maali of Patina Cigars and Tyler Jeffery of Viso Horny. It brings back the original Verdigris blend the two made together, and it does not take itself too seriously. The vintage-style artwork carries a playful tagline: "The Sequel Nobody Asked For."
That joke sets the tone. Many sequels disappoint. This one, as you will see, does not.
Both brands have built loyal followings by doing things their own way. Patina is known for its rustic, character-driven cigars, and Viso Horny has earned a fan base that follows every release. Putting the two together on one robusto made us curious before we even cut the cap.

First Third: Chili Spice Meets Pineapple
This cigar came out swinging. The first puffs brought an explosion of red chili pepper spice. Right alongside it came a huge amount of pineapple sweetness. Fiery spice and tropical fruit is not a pairing you find often, and it worked better than we expected.
The contrast kept every puff interesting. The spice grabbed your attention, and the pineapple kept it from ever feeling harsh.
Construction: A Perfect Draw
The draw was flawless, a perfect 10 out of 10. It was easy and open without being loose. The burn line held beautifully from start to finish of our session, with no need for touch-ups.
The ash held together nicely. Mardo personally likes a thicker ash, so that is the one small note. Considering everything else this cigar delivered, it is a minor complaint.
Second Third: From Spice to Flan
This is where ReVerdigris really blew us away. As the second third began, the aggressive chili spice started to back off. The pineapple sweetness did not fade. Instead, it changed into a rich, smooth, creamy custard flavor that reminded us of flan.
Going from spicy and tropical to smooth and dessert-like is the kind of flavor development we get excited about. It is the moment in this ReVerdigris review that turned a very good cigar into a 96-point cigar.
Value: $13 Is the Kicker
Here is the best part: $13 per cigar. A bundle of 10 works out to about $130 before taxes or discounts. That is the number that shaped every ReVerdigris review note we took. For that price, the complexity, construction and overall experience make ReVerdigris an exceptional value. You do not need to spend $25 or more for a boutique cigar that changes this much.
Mardo's take
- Tyler Jeffery, you've outdone yourself! Kudos to you, kid. Keep up the great work!
- The Patina y Viso ReVerdigris opened with an explosion of red chili spice and pineapple, delivered a perfect 10/10 draw and a burn line that held beautifully, then turned into smooth, flan-like custard in the second third. At $13, that is outstanding.
- Is it worth chasing? Absolutely. If you are a Viso Horny fan, pick up one or two bundles. We do not make that recommendation lightly. Final verdict: 96/100, Outstanding.

Why the Robusto Format Fits
A 5 x 52 robusto is a great size for a blend like this. It is long enough to let the flavor change, and short enough that the big transition in the second third arrives quickly. At 14 grams, our sample felt solid and well filled in the hand, which matched the even draw we found once it was lit.
Who Should Try ReVerdigris
Viso Horny fans are first in line. If you like cigars that change as you smoke them, this is a great pick too. And if you want a boutique cigar that does not punish your wallet, ReVerdigris makes a strong case. Explore more Viso Horny cigars, the ReVerdigris Robusto page or other boutique cigars.

Our ReVerdigris review comes down to three things: a flavor transition from chili and pineapple to flan, a perfect draw with a dependable burn and a $13 price. "The Sequel Nobody Asked For"? Maybe. But this is one sequel we would gladly smoke again.
