Cigar Guide - My new favorite cigar...can you guess what it is
4th Oct 2021
Hi, and welcome to another episode of Mondays with Mardo’s. I'm Gerard, and this week we're going to talk about my favorite new cigar brand. But before I get going, I need you to click on that subscribe button, click on the bell to be notified every single week of new episodes on Mondays with Mardo’s.
All right. So we're going to get into why is Jake Wyatt Cigar Company my favorite brand right now? Specifically when it comes to the Lancero box. This is $66. It is product number 5518 on mardocigars.com if you are interested in purchasing it. It comes with the Boveda pack and has one of each of the gourmet cigars within the collection.
There is the U.S.I.R, the Appendix II, the Herbert Spencer, the Lucid Interval, and the Fourth Dimension. And we're going to go specifically one by one on every single cigar and we're going to talk about as to why it's my favorite.
All right. So the U.S.I.R is the first cigar that's here displayed. And the reason why I'm loving the Jake Wyatt Cigar brand, the gourmet collection is more of a mild to medium cigar, but when it comes to the Lancero, it kicks up the notch of flavors, right? But still having that mild to medium, so therefore it doesn't kick your ass. A lot of Lanceros these days, when they're a much stronger blend, since it's a smaller ring gauge, you're going to get more of the flavor of the wrapper, then you're going to get more of the filler.
A lot of strong cigars that are made in the Toro, if it's made in a Lancero, the strength is just going to be very, very overwhelming, and it's going to be very peppery. You're not going to enjoy as much, but with a mild to medium cigar, like the U.S.I.R, you're going to really get more and more flavor, but the nicotine level is not going to kick you in the ass. So the Habano wrapper on the U.S.I.R, this, by the way, is a seven inch by 38 ring gauge, you're going to taste flavors, excuse me, of cinnamon pepper, some sweetness, and toastiness in there. So the U.S.I.R is definitely unique. Very, very good cigar you can smoke any time of day.
All right. So the second Lancero, as you can see, look at the variety that we are experiencing, and we're only in the second Lancero within the sample box. So this thing can actually really satisfy any veteran or any beginner. This is a Connecticut Ecuadorian and most Connecticut cigars, most, are usually very mild. You're going to get that creaminess. You're going to get a little bit of that hay. With the Appendix II, we went away with the hay and we give you more of that spice. A lot of that creaminess, that clumpiness that we love, that marshmallow feel within the Connecticut is within this Lancero right here. And again, because it's a smaller ring gauge, you're going to taste more of that Connecticut, but the blend is just right to get away with that hay. So you taste that marshmallowy goodness in there. So again, more of a mild cigar, but since it's a Lancero, the flavors are going to be kicked up, baby.
All right. I don't know about you guys, but is your mouth watering? Because right now, I'm on my third different cigar and I just can't wait to fire one up. This is the Herbert Spencer. To me, it's my favorite. I like a little bit fuller cigars. This is San Andrés Maduro. It does have Pennsylvania Broadleaf within the filler. The Herbert Spencer straight chocolate bomb, fantastic cigar doesn't get too hot within the burn. Out of the Lancero sample right here, this is definitely my favorite. When the retrohale kicks in, better watch out. Man, those taste buds just keep on rolling.
All right. This next cigar is called the Lucid Interval. The Lucid Interval has been our number one selling cigar and in the Lancero. So let me tell you, if you like a morning coffee and you like to take your time to drink your coffee, maybe do some reading, or overlook your porch. You have a very nice view of a lake or ocean, whatever it is, and you like to take your time before you get your day going, and if you're a cigar smoker, the Lancero is the cigar to complement your coffee. This thing has hints of like straight cream, little bit of green tea in there, and very, very toasty. So the number one selling sku for our company is the Lucid Interval. And this Candela is fantastic.
All right. So the last cigar we're going to talk about here was actually our first blend when it came to the gourmet collection. It is called the Fourth Dimension. A lot of people say, why is it called the Fourth Dimension? Well, we live in a three dimensional world and we wanted to make a cigar that will just rock you into a whole complete different dimension, right? When you see like a superstar athlete, make that last buzzing shot call, basket, or that touchdown that they want to make, they had to tap into like that fourth dimension, like you got to get in the zone, right? So we are so passionate about cigars. We're so passionate about what we want to do. We want to give you guys that feel. That feeling of being in the zone. Me being a firefighter, Neil, my partner, coming from the professional baseball. We understand that fourth dimension of existence, right? So we came out with our first blend. We call it the Fourth Dimension. This is also a Habano. And this has a lot of almond toasty flavors with a little bit of sweetness in there, and just a little lingering taste of some tart, which is perfect because the Olor kicks in this thing, and it's really, really pleasant. A very, very unique blend that I have tasted in any Lancero.
Anyways, thank you so much for watching. Let me know in the comments if you have smoked any of these cigars yet, because I know a lot of you guys already preordered these and we already shipped them out. If you haven't, again, $66 for the sampler, product number 5518. But let me hear in the comments what you guys think of it.
